I started my photography business right out of high school and have been shooting weddings for about 9 years. I would say that I’m an introvert. I love being home - it’s where I recharge after the usual Monday - Friday work week or busy weekends filled with all things wedding related. But, I do have to say that weddings are my happy place. When I’m around two people that are in love, it lights a fire in my soul that my usual introverted-self doesn’t always have. I enjoy the simple things in life - love being one of those things. I am definitely a type A person and can definitely fixate on the details a little too much.. I do my best to make sure everything has a place and is neat & tidy. (I had to let go of that a little bit when we got our dog - but she’s worth it.) Photography is something that clicked with me one day. I didn’t take a bunch of classes or go to college for it (my degree is in business) so most of what I know is self-taught (or YouTube - who doesn’t love free education?) I remember when I got my first camera at age 15 and I had to Google how to turn it on. Since then, it’s been a never-ending infatuation that has turned into the most lovely part-time business. & because it is only part-time for me, it’s super low stress.
